Historic Rehabilitation - Holy Cross Monastery
Designs for accessibility: The chapel and library floors were redesigned to be handicap accessible with the bonus of radiant heating as a solution to address the former unwieldy heating system at the chapel. Interior connector ramps, an exterior stone terrace entry, elevators, handicap-accessible bathrooms and upgraded lighting all contribute to an improved structure for conference and retreat guests. The ground level of the Monastery building is reconfigured to an assisted-care facility, with state of the art insulation, windows, green materials, and advanced fresh air, air conditioning and heating systems.
